Taste of Norway: a Long Table Feast on Norway’s National Day
What do you get when two local, independent businesses team up to present an afternoon of food and drink together? A culinary collaboration that is sure to rock your Sunday! This match-up of Hildur and Jillian’s creativity & passion is not to be missed!
Take a journey to Norway with a six-course food and drink menu inspired by Hildur’s heritage and prepared by the Wells Hotel. Gather around the long tables of Troll Resort and celebrate Norway’s National Day with a feast! Alcoholic and non-alcoholic options available. Scandinavian sweaters are encouraged!
Taste of Norway is the 9th edition of the Cariboo Culinary Collaboration series, where the Wells Hotel hits the road to travel the Cariboo and team up with other small businesses to offer unique food and drink experiences in new venues. The eight previous events in the series have all sold out, so don’t miss the opportunity to join us this Spring!
The Menu:
* Hors d’ouevre: Gravad lax med hovmästarsås – cured salmon with dijon dill sauce
* Soup: Fiskesuppe med Knekkebrød – fish soup with crisp breads
* Appetizer: Lefse med marinert edamerost og agurt – potato pancake with marinated edam and cucumber
* Salad: Rekesalt med grovbrod – shrimp salad with whole grain bread
* Main: Fårikål – peppered lamb in cabbage with potatoes and lingonberries
* Dessert: Kvæfjordkak: Norway’s ‘best cake’
IMPORTANT this is a set menu event. Substitutions and alternatives to the set menu will not be available.
When: Sunday, May 17th starting at 2:00 pm (Norway’s National Day!)
