Opening Exhibition & Artist Talk with Kristin Krimmel
West Coast artist, Kristin Krimmel, Artist was raised in Vancouver. Upon completion of her studies at UBC, she taught Secondary School art in Vancouver. In 1976, she engaged in studies at the Ecole des Beaux Arts de Reims, France. Returning to Canada in 1983, she taught Drawing and Colour courses at Emily Carr College of Art and Design.
Kristin has exhibited in Canada and internationally and her works have appeared in several films made in the Vancouver area.
Her imagery is at once expressive and analytical. She has a passion for drawing and believes an understanding of its principles to be the basis for all visual appreciation. Drawing on solid classical technical skills and a spirit of exploration, Kristin creates artwork that can be realist or abstract, serious or humorous, contemporary or experimental.
