Public Meeting re: Wells Contaminated Sites/Reclamation Project

The Ministry of Forests’ Crown Contaminated Sites Program (CCSP) is hosting a public meeting at the Wells Community Hall (4269 Sanders Ave., Wells, BC) on August 2, 2023 starting at 6:30 pm to provide an update concerning CCSP investigations of the former Island Mountain and Cariboo Gold Quartz mine tailings on Crown land located in and adjacent to the District of Wells, BC.

The meeting will include an overview of the project and areas of environmental concern associated with the historical mining activities, and communication of potential health risks to the public. For more information contact: contaminated.sites@gov.bc.ca.
