DESCRIPTION:Spring has sprung and the countdown is on to our annual celebration of all things art: the 16th ArtsWells Festival! We are excited to present this triple threat performance of original BC musicianship as Naomi Shore\, Corwin Fox Music\, & Kitty & The Rooster at The Occidental hit the stage at our historic Sunset Theatre on the first day of Spring! For a fun-filled night of festival flair\, come dressed in your favourite festival attire for your chance to win rad prizes\, take your pics at the photobooth\, and bid on our auction offerings. \nThis event is part of a regional tour of Naomi Shore’s first ever solo album release! A piano-driven indie folk record with a vintage-ish vibe\, ‘Piece by Piece’ is a collection of eight songs covering themes of love\, loss\, and codependency. She’ll be joined by favourite festival friends\, Corwin Fox and Kitty and the Rooster. \n🌱 Doors at 7pm\, Show at 8pm.\n🌱$15 for advance tickets\, $20 at the door.\n🌱Kids 12 and under are free.\n🌱Students\, seniors and under employed $10 in advance\, $15 at the door. \n🌱 Naomi Shore 🌱\nWith her duo project\, Twin Peaks\, Naomi has had the good fortune of touring most of Canada as well as the East Coast of Australia. In 2015\, Twin Peaks were awarded the Western Canadian Music Award for Roots Duo/Group Recording of the Year for their album\, ‘Trouble’. \n🌱 Corwin Fox Music 🌱\nCorwin Fox is a Canadian songwriter\, producer and multi-instrumentalist who has been hailed as “a shining light in Canadian roots music” by Doug Cox (artistic director\, Vancouver Island Music Festival). Having toured extensively across Canada\, the U.S.\, and Australia since 1995\, Corwin has been spending an increasing amount of time recording and producing other artists across a wide range of genres. He still plays concerts and festivals\, performing his songs on banjo\, guitar\, and ukulele\, and he teaches songwriting to youth each summer\, but the studio has really become his focus since he founded the Corwin Fox Academy of Perpetual Excellence. DESCRIPTION:Coming all the way to Wells from Vancouver\, BC is Nasti Weather with alternative accordion extraordinaire\, Danny Bell!! \nNasti Weather//\nis the fallen gospel gutter folk creation of a former Tofino resident\, Anastasia Schlechtleitner. They put on powerful\, genuinely heartfelt live shows that manage to bridge the gap between a lively and deeply introspective performance. Nasti Weather is in the eye of the beholder but is consistently marked by uniquely haunting garage jazz vocal stylings and profound yet cheeky lyricism. Anastasia is deftly capable of drawing audiences close with a gentle croon\, but don’t be shocked if you’re blown back by an underbelly howl. Keeping with her story as a creative collaborator\, Nasti Weather draws together “The False Predictions” an ever changing cast of some of BC’s most prolific and talented folk musicians\, such as members of Red Haven\, High Society & The Party on High Street.
