SUMMARY:Caledonia Ramblers Wells Snowshoe Getaway
DESCRIPTION:The Caledonia Ramblers will be leading an exciting snowshoe trips in Wells this February. The plan is to leave Prince George on Friday February 10th and return Sunday February 12th. Don’t worry\, we will not be camping out in the snow. If you are interested in going (and committed to go) then please contact Peter (peter@interart.ca) so he can maintain a list of who is going and possibly help with finding roommates to share the cost\, suggested places to stay\, etc. It will be up to you to book your own accommodations. \nCurrently rooms are available at the Wells Motel (which is highly rated)\, but they are going fast (remember that Wells is a popular destination for snowmobilers\, and accommodations in the area are limited). If you plan on going\, then please book your room there now ( 1-800-860-2299 ). Other possible accommodations include the Mountain Thyme Getaway. \nIt should be a great time with spectacular views of the Rocky Mountains\, and fantastic food. Our dedicated mushers and their dog teams will again be sworn in as official mail carriers and will carry Canada Post mail in their dog sleds over the Gold Rush Trail to Barkerville. \nPlease support this special year by purchasing unique Mail Run envelopes that are sold from this website or at local outlets\, stamped “Carried by Dog Team” and hand cancelled by volunteers in Quesnel\, Wells and Barkerville\, the three post offices along the route. Once delivered to Barkerville\, this mail enters the regular mail system for delivery anywhere in the world.

The class will be hosted in Prince George and Wells/Barkerville area unless otherwise identified. \nBy the end of this introductory course\, you will understand how to: \n\nEvaluate the basics of avalanche formation and release\nIdentify avalanche terrain\nKnow the steps required to plan and carry out a trip\nUse appropriate decision-making tools\nFind resources for obtaining terrain ratings if a trip is not rated\nFind resources for obtaining Avalanche Danger Ratings and Avalanche Bulletins if these are not available\nCarry out a companion rescue\nUnderstand the limits of your training.\n\nParticipants must have a sled\, helmet\, and basic avy gear (shovel\, probe\, and digital transceiver). SUMMARY:The Cariboo Lady Alliance Wells Hike
DESCRIPTION:Come hike wells with us February 26th\, 9am SHARP meet up at the Jack O Clubs General Store. \nPost hike! We’ll reconvein at the jack for dinner\, this will be a first for the chapter and I couldn’t be more excited!! \n10 spots available\, once they’re taken I’ll remove the option to sign up…I want to keep this group small for safety. \nHike to be decided closer to the date\, factoring in for weather and avy conditions – choosing bwtween Murray to the cabin\, Cornish mountain\, or the kibee lake trail. \nThese will be between 10 and 15km hikes (Cornish is the longest\, next kibee and lastly Murray cabin). The 2 mountains will have between 400 and 580metres elevation gain\, but Kibee is less than 100metres for the whole trail. \nMake sure to complete the waiver linked here before attending the event. Waiver completion is mandatory!\nIf you have any questions or concerns\, please reach out!!
