These platforms provide knowledge that can be easily disseminated between family and friends who physically can’t be together. In these worlds\, authors can speak to their connections to dishes they are teaching others to make. However\, some narratives need to be re-examined and chewed on.\n\nMotivated by her ancestors’ relationship to food and migration\, Soba’s Corner is a video series that unpacks distinct Chinese-Canadian dishes from specific provinces. DESCRIPTION:Burns Night is a time to enjoy Scottish traditions and celebrate the renowned poet Robert Burns. The celebrations centre around the Bard’s birthday on January 25th. They first began in 1801 and have continued all over the world as an homage to his words and Scotland’s enduring legacy of creativity. \nJoin us at the Wells Hotel on Sunday\, January 26th for an evening that will feature music\, poetry\, food\, whiskey\, and good company. However\, some narratives need to be re-examined and chewed on. \nMotivated by her ancestors’ relationship to food and migration\, Soba’s Corner is a video series that unpacks distinct Chinese-Canadian dishes from specific provinces. Posted on YouTube and disguised as a typical how-to cooking show\, another conversation and narrative are hidden in the Canadian English closed captions and the “recipe” linked in the description box.
