SUMMARY:Theatre in the Bog
DESCRIPTION:Join us on August 1st for Theatre in the Bog! \nFeaturing a line-up of the best and brightest artists from the Cariboo and beyond\, Theatre in the Bog offers playful\, daring theatre mixed with a healthy dose of folksy charm. \nBrian Fidler\, the Artistic Director of Ramshackle Theatre\, is working with artists and theatre makers to create magic in the bog just on the edge of Wells. Get out of the black box and see just how wild theatre can be! \nSet in the meadow on the edge of the town of Wells\, on the traditional territory of the Lhtako Dene\, in an area with significant land use of the Dakelh and Secwépemc peoples\, Theatre in the Bog leaves the seats and stages behind\, allowing creators to explore beyond the boundaries of conventional theatre. Against a backdrop of scrubby spruce\, pine and willow\, audiences are led through the woods to see original performances that artists have cooked up over the course of a week.

SUMMARY:'Till Death: The Six Wives of Henry the 8th
DESCRIPTION:Thursday\, July 10\, 2025\n8:00 PM 9:00 PM\nSunset Theatre Society (map)\nWritten and Directed by Ryan Gladstone \nStarring Tara Travis \nOriginal Score by Drew Jurecka and Robbie Grunwald \nThe Betrayed Wife. The Scheming Wife. The Peacemaker. The Ugly German. The Tarty One. The One in Love with Someone Else. \nSix Queens. Six Love stories. Six Deaths. One Actress! \nIt all starts in the afterlife\, in a bizarre waiting room of sorts. One by one\, the wives of Henry VIII arrive\, much to the shock and dismay of each previous wife. What culminates is the heated frenzy of an ex-wives club where these women swap stories\, toss Anne Boleyn’s head around\, pick on the ugly German one\, and\, most importantly\, fight for the right to be acknowledged as Henry’s true bride and eternal partner. \nBut when Henry arrives…everything changes. \nWINNER: Pick of the Fringe Vancouver\, Outstanding Individual Performance AND Producer’s Pick (London Fringe) \n“…one of the most impressive acting feats in the festival!” ★★★★★-Kevin Prokosh\, Winnipeg Free Press \n“A standing ovation followed Travis’ tour-de-force performance.”- ★★★★★ London Free Press \n“What more can I add? WOW!” ★★★★(out of 4)- The Beat\, London \n“Tara Travis is an immense talent. Go see this show and find yourself in Heaven. Comedy Heaven\, that is.” –umfm.com \n“It’s tough to say which is the better part of this show: the acting\, the direction or the script…compelling!”-CVV Magazine \n“Sharply directed and performed with consummate skill and vivacity\, Til Death is a must-see!” ★★★★1/2-Victoria Times Colonist \n“Hilarious\, touching\, thought provoking and educational\, Til Death has “best in the fest” written all over it!” –Theatre in London

SUMMARY:ArtsWells 2025
DESCRIPTION:📣🎉We are very excited to announce that we are going ahead with ArtsWells 2025! \nThis year\, the festival will take place on June 27 – 29.\nWe had worked hard to “bring back” the festival last year\, presenting a new iteration that we had carefully built and curated. \nHowever\, the postponement of ArtsWells 2024 due to fire strengthened our resolve to continue. We believe this community and this region deserve an event like ArtsWells\, something that celebrates the unique local spirit while inviting artists and listeners to our little town. We’re getting back on the horse and making it happen! \nWe believe these new dates will allow the festival to take place at time when the weather is comfortable in Wells. We would like to extend our gratitude to all the businesses and fellow NFPs in Wells and Barkerville that have helped us make this switch a reality.

SUMMARY:LARRY
DESCRIPTION:Since we first heard about this award-winning hit show\, we’ve been keen to bring Canadian Clown Artist Candy Roberts to the Sunset stage: she’s fucking brilliant\, and we are lucky to have her. \n(Yes\, we used the F-word\, because this show is for adults.) \nRoberts assumes her alter ego\, LARRY\, in this daring and comedic piece about one dude’s hilarious attempt at self improvement. With rock and roll\, a little “life-couching”\, and a dip into his own psyche\, LARRY uncovers a little more than anyone expected. \nCulled lovingly from the male archetypes that surrounded her during her upbringing\, LARRY helps Candy compassionately examine the limitations of the gender binary\, aging as a woman in society\, and the complexities of being human. \nThis show is for anyone who is\, or knows a woman. Gear-down Big-Rig\, you just might bust a gut and shed a tear! \n(This show is adult-oriented\, recommended ages +18)
