SUMMARY:Molly's Comedy Cabaret
DESCRIPTION:What is Molly’s Comedy Cabaret? It is a comedic romp featuring the power house vocals of local actress and singer Molly Wilson. From Broadway to pop to Motown\, there is never a dull moment — and every show features a strong likelihood of puppetry! This just might be the best entertainment value in town! \n“With a vocal range as wide as Canada itself\, Wilson has the chops to successfully pull off the music of Celine Dion\, Aretha Franklin\, Queen and Whitney Houston to name a few. Add to that her delightful personality\, endearing stories and comedic timing\, and you’ve got “Molly’s Comedy Cabaret\,” an enjoyable hour with your new bestie\, Molly.” – Orlando Sentinel \n“Molly Wilson is wonderfully entertaining\, and truly knows how to reach an audience.” – Freeline Productions\, Orlando

SUMMARY:Wells Reunion: The Fred Wells Show
DESCRIPTION:The Fred Wells Show is a fascinating but little known true story from BC’s more recent past… \nAs the gloom of the Great Depression fell like a fog over North America in the 1930s\, one tiny pocket of prosperity shone like a beacon of hope. High up in the foothills of British Columbia’s Cariboo Mountains an introverted yet charismatic prospector named Fred Marshall Wells had a hunch there might still be gold where the province’s great Gold Rush once boomed in the 1860s. And he was right. While the rest of the world struggled simply to survive\, the Cariboo Gold Quartz Mine erupted into activity. Soon\, thousands of people flocked to the area\, and the next Cariboo Gold Rush began. Fred Wells saved countless BC families from the ravages of poverty in the “dirty thirties” and today the town of Wells\, BC – 73 kilometres east of Quesnel – survives as his legacy. \nThe Fred Wells Show is a 60-minute humorous and dramatic monologue that presents the innermost thoughts of an industrious “man of few words.” \nAll Weekend Long:\n\nVisit Historic Barkerville and receive a free admission by showing your Reunion ID.\nEnjoy 2-for-1 ice cream or coffee at BNC Mercantile with your Reunion ID.\nWalk along our ever-expanding trail system in the meadows (formerly known as the swamp).\nReminisce and explore old (& new) Wells\, such as the Wells Museum\, Wells Hotel\, Sunset Theatre\, Amazing Space Gallery\, Bear’s Paw Café\, Frog on the Bog Gifts\, Island Mountain Arts\, BNC Mercantile and the Jack O’ Clubs.\nForget-Me-Not Wall. SUMMARY:Play Reading: The Grace of Strange Weather
DESCRIPTION:Paul Tedeschini with TJ Dawe  \n\n\n\n\nOK\, so there are some good things about being here…. on night shift. For one thing\, I can have the radio on all night. To be honest\, I don’t even hear it\, most of the time it’s just white noise in the background…like one of those sleep machines that puts your bed next to a forest stream or on a beach surrounded by crickets and waves. But I can also get weather updates too…which is especially important on a night like tonight.

SUMMARY:The Sunset Cabaret
DESCRIPTION:The Sunset Cabaret is a long-standing tradition at the Sunset Theatre\, inspired by the coffee houses of the 1960s and the popular Theatrical Happenings of the 1970s.  IMA used to host periodical Coffee Houses\, inviting anyone and everyone to participate in an evening of sharing creative stories\, songs\, poetry\, dance\, film\, whatever was your fancy.  Since re-opening its doors in 2006\, there have been 44 Sunset Cabarets\, hosting 100s of artists from Wells\, Barkerville or just driving through town. Intended to be a fundraiser for the Sunset Theatre\, the Cabarets have become a tradition over the years. \nThe Sunset Cabarets were hosted by our beloved Tim Sutherland who gathered the group together to create a raucous and memorable evening. The baton has been passed to Stu Cawood and James Douglas who give of their time to carry on this tradition\, bringing together the community in laughter and song. \nAll ages are welcome\, however extreme\, over-the-top\, risque content is typical. Course language and adult themes are often featured. \nDoors open @ 7:30PM • Show starts at 8PM \nNB • Adult content

SUMMARY:Expressive Watercolour Workshop with Simone Buck
DESCRIPTION:We are thrilled to invite you to join Simone Buck for this two-day workshop\, which delves into creative expression through abstract watercolours. And the best part\, all levels are welcome! \n“Everybody has a creative side\, it is the inner critic and our own judgement and expectation that is keeping us from connecting to our inherent creative source. My goal is to bring this inner critic into consciousness\, acknowledge it but also letting go of it\, so that the participants can loosen up and tap into their true creative potential” said Simone Buck. \nBiography\nBorn in 1971 in Germany\, Simone holds a degree in Graphic/Communication Design from the University of Applied Sciences\, Mannheim\, and has worked as a graphic designer in the scientific publishing industry for many years. \nSimone first developed her love of painting when\, as a child moving between Germany and West Africa\, she discovered she could create her own worlds as the outside world changed.\nSimone frequently and comfortably switches between very luminescent\, light and dynamic modes of painting and an achromatic style accompanied by a reduced use of shapes. Her paintings are a blend of spontaneous brushwork paired with consciously applied painterly techniques.\nLiving a life close to the wilderness\, away from cities built up areas\, her art naturally tends to revolve around organic structures and energy states in nature. Most of the work is left untitled as she feels it important that the viewer approach her work with no added influence\, so that he/she may freely arrive at his/her own interpretations. \nThe workshop runs from 9am – 3:30pm with a break for lunch.
