DESCRIPTION:Thursday January 9th\, 5:30 PM- 7:30 PM (Wells Barkerville School Kitchen 4386 Mildred Ave – please note this space is not wheelchair accessible)\n\nCost: $42.00 (including GST) – includes a handful of dumplings to take home… or to prep and eat on site!\nIMA will also have a small amount of PWYC seats – please indicate that as your choice in the payment section below. \n\nDTD?: Down to Dumpling? is a call and response project sustained through exchanging hand folded\, edible goodies. \nCraving a place to let questions float\, Cheung invites you to a communal evening of wrapping dumplings\, where each participant will be given bite-sized treasures to take home as a parting gift. Within each baggie will be a scrap piece of paper—a prompt to contribute to an ongoing archive in any way that feels right to you. \nThrough this collective time\, the artist hopes to continue nurturing acts of sharing space\, stories\,energy\, and food—together. \n\n\nArtist Bio:  🔮 Snack Witch aka Joni Cheung 🍡 is a grateful\, uninvited guest born—and knows she wants to die—on the unceded territories of the xʷməθkwəy̓əm\, Skwxwú7mesh\, Stó:lō\, and Səl̓ílwətaʔ/Selilwitulh peoples. They are currently toiling over their MFA on the stolen lands of the Kanien’kehá:ka peoples to become a Certified Sculpture Witch at Concordia University. She holds a BFA with Distinction in Visual Art (2018) from the School for the Contemporary Arts at Simon Fraser University. As a wicked #magicalgirl ✨ who eats art and makes snacks\, she has exhibited and curated shows\, off- and online\, across Turtle Island.\n\nAll ages welcome.
